Charlotte, NC – During her remarks before the Charlotte Area Chamber of Commerce and the Carolinas Business Alliance on Friday, Ms. McGinn compared her own professional career, as a partner at one of the nation’s top law firms and a top executive at Bank of America, with the hapless career of her opponent, Woodson Bradley (Gardner).

“She appears to be a good saleswoman and self-promoter. But as we’d say in Texas, she’s all hat and no cattle,” said McGinn.

By her own admission, Bradley served as a top salesperson and trainer for one of the most notorious pyramid schemes in North America, Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing (FHTM). According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the company scammed hundreds of thousands of Americans who were struggling to make ends meet out of an estimated $169 million, before being shut down and placed into receivership by the FTC and state attorneys general, including Roy Cooper, the former North Carolina Attorney General and the current Democrat Governor.

In his press release announcing the take down of FHTM, Cooper said:

“Operations like this claim to offer career success and high earnings. But the reality is that only the few at the top make it at the expense of new recruits who end up losing.”

Bradley claimed to have been one of those chosen few at the top of the pyramid. Before purging her LinkedIn account of all references to FHTM in April, Bradley claimed to be “one of FHTM’s Top 11 Earners, a member of the organization’s Ring of Honor, and a Platinum Sales Manager.”

In their filings in Federal court, the FTC and North Carolina name and quote Bradley (Gardner) multiple times. Bradley and her husband at the time filed for bankruptcy following the dissolution of FHTM.

Speaking to the Charlotte business crowd, McGinn posited,

“I ask you, as businessmen and businesswomen – not as Democrats or Republicans or Unaffiliated voters – if you were hiring one of us based on our relevant, skill-building experience, who would you choose? For over 35 years, I’ve been solving critical problems for major clients around the world by bringing practical solutions. Together, let’s make Charlotte, North Carolina the best place in the country to live.
